EBDA achievements
1. The One-day Biodynamic Workshop for the EBDA Office team
The EBDA office team had a one-day at the Biodynamic Preparations House at SEKEM Group’s Farm, taking part in a hands-on workshop on Biodynamic Preparations. This one-day workshop offered both practical experience and a theoretical introduction to Biodynamic Agriculture — a holistic farming approach that works in harmony with nature’s rhythms to restore and enhance soil vitality. Participants learned about the Biodynamic Preparations (such as Horn Manure 500, Horn Silica 501, and compost preparations made from medicinal plants like yarrow, chamomile, nettle, oak bark, dandelion, and valerian) and knew how each preparation and plant are playing a unique role in enriching the soil, stimulating microbial life, and strengthening plant growth in alignment with cosmic and earthly forces.

2. The International Rural Women’s Day
Under the theme “Building Climate-Resilient Agricultural Value Chains,” which brought together representatives from The EBDA, Heliopolis University, SEKEM, Enroot, Aswan University, and Mazare3 Company as part of the celebration of the International Day of Rural Women within the framework of the “Tamkeen” project, implemented by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the Om Habiba Foundation, with funding from the European Union. The discussion focused on the importance of strengthening integration between different sectors to support sustainable agriculture and create resilient economic opportunities for women in rural areas. Additionally, participants reflected on transformation and renewal. It was announced, a collaboration between SEKEM Group and its Austrian partners to establish a new economy rooted in 100% organic and biodynamic agriculture. As a key partner in advancing this vision, the Egyptian Biodynamic Association (EBDA) plays the role in translating these global aspirations into on-the-ground impact through its ongoing work to empower and transition 40,000 farmers across Egypt to regenerative and biodynamic practices.
5. SEKEM Autumn Festival
As part of the festival, the EBDA farmers gathering focused on the distribution of Dopay cards, the new registered farmers and the farmers circle with the whole sekem-EBDA community. A total of 22 Dopay Meeza cards were successfully distributed to the participating farmers. As part of the progress, the administration team has issued a total of 2,754 DOPAY cards and is resolving issuance challenges while initiating data uploads to streamline data. Additionally, 2,200 registered farmers on the system from 1st October till the 22nd.
The Economy of Love (EoL) Activities
On October 9, a team from Brazil who are interested in the Economy of Love standard arrived at SEKEM for a business trip to gain a deeper understanding of the EoL standard exploring its potential implementation in Brazil. The visit began with a comprehensive tour of the SEKEM main farm, providing the group with a firsthand look at SEKEM’s integrated approach to sustainable development. Included visits to SEKEM’s educational institutions, the medical center, as well as the ISIS Organic and Lotus factories, showcasing how the principles of EoL are embedded across SEKEM’s economic, social, and cultural dimensions . Afterwards, they had a meeting in the EBDA office for a meeting and presentation where the discussions included the mission, vision, goals , and dimensions of EoL, The session provided valuable insights into how EoL integrates ecological, social, cultural, and economic values to promote regenerative practices and community well-being. During the trip they went for farm visits under the EoL certification, where they had a good engaging conversation with the farmers and farm owners, the visit included 2 farms, Al-Asal farm and Al-Manashy farm, they were impressed by the great work and farmers satisfaction after they joined the EBDA and followed the EoL standard, reflecting the transformative impact of the EoL standard on both people and the planet. The exchange fostered a strong sense of partnership and laid the foundation for future collaboration to expand the EoL philosophy to Brazil.
