Women’s Empowerment Project in rural Egypt
As part of the Women’s Empowerment Project in rural Egypt in cooperation with Organic Egypt, the August monthly meeting with the field facilitators was held to strengthen monitoring, accountability, and professional capacity within the project. During the session, the facilitators received training on how to effectively fill in the surveys that will accompany the women’s gatherings for awareness sessions. These surveys will also serve as a tool to track the outcomes of the loan box initiative, ensuring that financial activities remain transparent and measurable.
Another key focus of the meeting was discussing the profiling of women participants to better match them with the professions for which they will undergo training. This profiling process is essential for aligning women’s skills, interests, and local opportunities with practical livelihood options such as sewing, cooking, soap-making, poultry farming, and childcare.
The introduction of the surveys represents a practical mechanism for collecting consistent data, maintaining records of progress, and building a reliable database to support the generation of accurate and informative reports. To reinforce the standards of practice, the facilitators were also provided with a newly developed policy document. This policy outlines clear measures of accountability, ensuring that the work of the facilitators is transparent, consistent, and meets the expected level of professional quality.
