Communication Team Report – July 2025

  1. EBDA Carbon Credit Event Coverage

This month, the communication team covered the Carbon Credit Event organized by the Egyptian Biodynamic Association (EBDA) across five governorates. The focus was on raising awareness among farmers about the benefits of carbon credits under the Economy of Love (EoL) Standard. While the event targeted Minya, Qena, Aswan, Luxor, and Dominate.

The event was attended by representatives from three governors and one ministry, which emphasized the importance of integrating sustainable practices at a governmental level.

From a media perspective:

  • The team produced one event reel highlighting the event, farmer interactions, and key stakeholders.
  • A total of 78 photos were carefully selected and edited, covering presentations, panel discussions, and moments from the event.

These materials are now being used across EBDA’s digital platforms and in partner reporting to document the event’s outreach and impact.

  1. Organic Egypt Workshop Coverage

The team also covered the “Workshop on Co-developing Indicators for the Transition Towards Agroecology”organized by Organic Egypt. This technical workshop brought together experts and practitioners to collaboratively define a framework for measuring agroecological progress in Egypt.

The team’s role was to capture the depth and collaborative spirit of the workshop through:

  • One short reel, capturing highlights from the group work, expert presentations, and wrap-up discussions.
  • 50 edited photos, showcasing the atmosphere, working sessions, and interactions between participants.
  1. Editing & Content Production

In parallel to the event coverage, the communication team finalized a set of media materials for education and promotion:

Social Media Progress

  • EBDA Instagram page

Over the course of June and July, the Instagram account demonstrated exceptional performance across all key metrics, indicating the success of recent campaigns and content efforts. Total views reached 538,747, marking a massive increase of 3,700%, suggesting that content visibility has significantly expanded, possibly through reels, boosted posts, or viral content.

Reach also rose by 10.8%, totaling over 300,000 users, confirming that content was effectively reaching new audiences. More importantly, content interactions increased by 484.6%, showing that followers didn’t just see the content, but actively engaged with it—whether through likes, comments, shares, or saves.

One of the strongest indicators of content effectiveness was the 224.7% increase in link clicks, totaling 8,991, reflecting a strong call-to-action strategy and user interest in the campaign’s messaging. This engagement translated to a 2,100% increase in profile visits (9,692 total), and 1,509 new followers, up by 1,500%, confirming that the content drove significant brand discovery and follower conversion.

  • EBDA Facebook Page

During the period from June 1st to July 31st, the Facebook page performance experienced a significant overall decline across all key metrics. Views totaled 2,396,854, but this figure marked an 81.7% drop compared to the previous reporting period. Similarly, reach also fell drastically by 82.9%, landing at 968,048. The sharp drop in both metrics suggests a major decrease in the visibility and discoverability of content on the platform.

Engagement also saw a steep decline, with content interactions down by 87.4%, reaching 7,643. This indicates a notable drop in how audiences engaged with posts, such as likes, shares, and comments. Additionally, link clicks fell by 74.4%, totaling 24,511 — likely pointing to reduced interest or weaker call-to-action performance.

  • Profile visits

decreased by 85.5%, reaching only 9,274, and followers dropped significantly by 98.1%, with only 1,143 new followers gained in this period. This highlights a slowdown in audience growth and engagement compared to the previous months. However, this drop in performance is intentional and expected, as we temporarily shifted our boosting strategy from Facebook to Instagram. This decision was made for three main reasons:

  1. We had already achieved our Facebook growth target for Q3 by reaching 115K likes and follows,
  2. We aimed to minimize ad spending to preserve budget for a stronger push in Q4,
  3. And we wanted to enhance Instagram performance, which required reallocating our efforts and investment.

Importantly, despite halting Facebook ads, we did not stop posting or engaging on the page. Our team continued to follow the content calendar, share updates, and engage organically with the audience, maintaining consistency and presence as part of our broader social media strategy.

While the numbers show a drop, they reflect a planned reallocation of resources rather than a decline in performance quality. This approach ensures a more balanced growth across platforms and prepares us for optimized campaigns in the upcoming quarter.

EBDA achievements

Regionalwert: Sustainability & Biodiversity  Assessment

  • After the old indicators of the tool were updated and adjusted, all the questions in the tool were translated from English into Arabic to ensure better understanding and accessibility for farmers. In order to make it easier for farmers to respond, we created the tool in Google Form format. Ten farms were selected from three different governorates  (Damietta, Assiut, and Fayoum ) as pilot farms.
  • The team is currently in the pilot phase of the tool’s reveal process, following the completion of the form responses. This step will allow us to view the results of the Sustainability Report generated by the tool.

PGS

  • On July 2nd, a session about the PGS was conducted by Eng. Buthaina in the EBDA team meeting explained the system mechanism step by step starting from the farm’s registration to the certification.
  • The team has been working on organizing farm data. They collected and prepared data for all farms that were previously in paperwork format and compiled it into an Excel sheet. This was done to make the data accessible to both the Carbon Footprint Center (CFC) and the Center of Organic Agriculture in Egypt (COAE). Therefore, that certification process could begin.
  • Currently, audits are ongoing for the farms registered under the system in 2023 and 2024 farms as second and third audits. Those audits are taking place during June, July, and August, 2025.

EBDA & Alfanar Projects

Alfanar is a project between EBDA and two partners (Alfanar and life vision) , The goal of the project is to train 700 farmers on the economy of love and help them convert to organic agriculture.

Coordination meetings were held with the agricultural engineers to align on the monthly targets for both Minya and Beni Suef governorates.
