Dialogue with governments and decision makers and advocacy campaigns

– The Minister of Agriculture appoints Dr. Alaa Ezzouz, Head of the Agricultural Extension Sector, to represent the Minister of Agriculture at the celebrations of the farmers of the Egyptian Organic Farming Association SEKEM Autumn Festival 2024 celebrates 47 years of green innovation and community unity 

– The event was also attended by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rabeh, Director of the Climate Research Institute, and a delegation of directors and officials of the Agriculture Directorate in Sharkia Governorate.

– YouTube: 21 new learning videos uploaded.

– Facebook: 2 Learning Videos were sponsored and 2 pages like campaigns boosted which resulted in gaining 5.2K new followers.  Our total followers now are 18.1K .

– LinkedIn: we gained organically new 122 followers resulting in a total of 4,200K followers.

– The Media Team went on a mission to cover  Fayoum Environmental Film Festival.

Aswan Toshka Agricultural Exhibition Participation of the EBDA and Small Farmers

– An important step toward advancing sustainable agriculture and strengthening local communities in Upper Egypt has been taken with the involvement of 600 small farmers and the EBDA in the first Aswan Toshka Agricultural Exhibition and Conference. Small-scale farmers from different governorates in the area were able to participate thanks in large part to the association. They had a rare chance to share their stories, highlight their accomplishments, and interact with policymakers, industry executives, and experts through this project.

– There were event’s workshops and discussions focused on organic farming, sustainable agriculture practices, and cutting-edge methods like carbon credit programs and bio-based solutions.

The Inaugural Faiyum Film Festival 2024

The inaugural Faiyum Film Festival 2024 brought sustainability and art together to inspire change. In a panel discussion, the team highlighted the Economy of Love (EoL) standard’s role in empowering smallholder farmers through biodynamic agriculture, fair compensation, and environmental regeneration. Collaborating with Organic Egypt Foundation, Heliopolis University, and the Center of Organic Agriculture in Egypt, we promoted sustainable farming and its vital role in protecting the planet and enhancing livelihoods.

 

EBDA and EoL Team Joined COP29 Azerbaijan

Contributing to critical discussions and events focused on advancing regenerative agriculture innovations at a global scale. The team actively engaged in the Evening Solutions Dialogues, co-hosted by the Future Economy Forum and Food Tank at the Action on Food Pavilion, where stakeholders explored actionable strategies for sustainable food systems. Additionally, The team participated in sessions with climate journalists, farmer roundtables, and community leaders, fostering meaningful exchanges of ideas and best practices. Through these engagements, we proudly represented the Economy of Love (EoL) standard, showcasing its dedication to sustainable agriculture, fair practices, and environmental regeneration as key pillars for building a resilient future.

 

First Milestone at COP16 in Riyadh

Helmy Abouleish, Chair of the Board of the Egyptian Biodynamic Association (EBDA), and Thoraya Seada, Director of the Carbon Footprint Center (CFC), represented the Economy of Love (EoL) standard at this year’s United Nations Conference to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). Their participation highlighted the EoL standard’s pivotal role in supporting farmers, advancing sustainable agriculture, and addressing desertification through regenerative practices.

 

The EBDA New Agriculture Cosmic Agenda 2025

The EBDA team has been successfully working on the new cosmic Agenda & Calendar that will be ready to be distributed to all our farmers for the year 2025. EBDA Farmers’ Growth November, 2024

EBDA extension engineers successfully registered 185 new farms in November that included 1003 farmers with a total area of 4,372 acres.

EBDA total registered information from January until November, 2024 as follows:

Total farms: 3,127 

Total farmers: 15,441

Total area in acres: 59,490
